One of the best things about having braces is getting to choose your rubber band colors! There are so many colors to choose from, it might feel overwhelming. Here are some ideas to help you make your decision!

If your orthodontist told you they need to add rubber bands, you may be confused. There are two main types of orthodontic elastics: ligatures and inter-arch elastics (rubber bands).

We all know the best way to handle a problem is by finding the solution as early as possible. Whether it’s a home repair or car trouble, any issue is best solved early. The same goes with our health, and especially our mouth health. It is best to start seeing an orthodontist at the age of seven. That does not always happen. If not, it may be possible that we are ignoring spacing and alignment problems in our mouth. However, it is never too late to have those problems corrected. Adult braces are becoming even more popular than ever. They are not embarrassing or unsightly like they may have seemed two decades ago. Instead, traditional braces are a lot more sleek and comfortable, and there are even other options like Invisalign. Having adult braces is not a bad thing anymore. You will...

Some people see traditional braces to be unsightly, awkward chunks of metal on their teeth. For those people, there’s Invisalign. One of the benefits of Invisalign is the appearance. Clear braces look better in the eyes of some people. Also, metal braces might get food caught in them. Invisalign make the person look like they don’t even have braces. Clear braces can be removed when necessary. If the wearer decides to remove them for some reason for brief periods of time, it’s easy to do so. Invisalign can also reduce damage to teeth and gums. They don’t have the sharp edges or protruding edges or bits like traditional metal braces. Also, Invisalign can reduce the treatment time for orthodontic care. They simply straighten teeth faster...

It is incredibly important to start treatment early when it comes to orthodontic care. By having your child be seen by an orthodontist by the age of seven, it is easier for an orthodontist to determine if there are any problems that need to be corrected by braces. The earlier a child is seen by an orthodontist, the better it is for their self-confidence. You can avoid the negative associations related to braces which may appear in teenage years. The earlier the treatment the better when it comes to the impact on gums and the jaw. If there is any evidence of bad bites or gaps between teeth, it can be detected before they make too much of an impact. Also, since the teeth and gums are growing very rapidly in childhood years, they can often be adjusted a lot easier when care begins early....

Getting braces may be a stressful situation for people. It can cause drama in a teenager’s life when they realize they have to get braces. Kids may be nervous about the pain. For an adult, it’s a different type of stress. They may worry about how their colleagues see them, or wonder what people think about their new facial look. However, when people think negative thoughts about braces, it’s because they don’t know about all the types of braces and treatment there are. You don’t have to have traditional metal braces or brackets of different colors if you don’t want to.

There are invisible options and clear options. One of the options that are especially popular with adults is ceramic braces. Ceramic braces are made...

There are many different types of braces, each with their own benefits. One such treatment is the Empower Braces system. Empower braces are clear and this is one of the most popular benefit of the system. Empower braces are built to be strong and invisibly and are created from high-tech ceramic materials. Without the use of rubberbands, Empower braces are different from traditional metal braces. The secret behind the system is the use of specially designed clips which are integrated directly into the bracket to hold the wire in place. This replaces the use of rubberbands. The clips offer several benefits, including protection from discoloration and easier and quicker adjustments. Because of this, you will probably find that you are having shorter visits and shorter treatment time. Empower braces are also more comfortable than regular braces. They use a lighter arch wire, which are a lot easier to keep clean and maintained than heavy wires and brackets.

Orthodontic care has completely changed over the past decade or two. Before, when patients found out they had to get braces, they would instantly think of big metal mouths, pain, and discomfort. Now, braces are becoming more and more comfortable, a lot less painful, and not nearly as life-changing. Braces and other treatment might only be part of a patient’s life for a short time, and depending on the treatment they choose, they are a lot of more discreet.

If your teenager needs to get braces but isn’t excited about it, it may be because they’re worried about what they’ll look like with braces. They might be dreading the fact of having all the extra undesired attention that braces may bring. However, to get a healthy smile with confidence, your teen has an easy solution to this melodrama: Invisalign Teen. Invisalign Teen is the ideal solution who want to get their perfect smile while maintaining their confidence.  This system uses a series of clear removable aligners with a blue dot wear indicator so it’s easier for your teen to know how often to change them. While wearing Invisalign Teen, your child can still eat and drink what they want. This system makes it easier to maintain the high-stress lifestyle of being a teenager while preserving their self-confidence.

As parents and guardians of children, their health is always on our minds. We remember to make sure they eat well, get enough sleep, exercise and play, and pay close attention in school. We also remember to make sure they brush their teeth twice a day. However, that’s not all we have to do to make sure our children’s mouths are healthy. By the age of seven, a child should see an orthodontist.

Early orthodontic treatment varies among patients. It can be anything from removable or fixed appliances that can make room for crowded teeth or preserve space for unerupted teeth. It can create facial symmetry by manipulating jaw growth. It can reduce the possibility of needing tooth extraction. It can also reduce overall treatment time in braces. These problems are fixed early...
